Sarah Knighten holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Sarah Knighten is a compassionate school counselor with over 15 years of experience in public schools. Mrs. Knighten began her teaching career in 2007 as a middle school paraprofessional. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Special Education in 2010, Mrs. Knighten taught in both Colorado and Hawaii. In 2020, Mrs. Knighten completed her Master’s degree in social work and began supporting students in St. Vrain as a school counselor.

Mrs. Knighten loves helping students connect to their school community. She collaborates with students, staff and families to make school a safe space where students feel like they belong.

Outside of school, she loves reading, hiking, traveling, playing pickleball, and spending time with her family and dogs.
