Maria graduated from UNC Greeley in 2021 with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education.

Bio
Maria Torres brings over 18 years of dedicated preschool experience to the Big Sky PK-8 community. Her extensive background includes teaching in Head Start for 14 years before joining SVVSD in 2022. Maria is passionate about shaping the early education of our youngest learners and igniting a lifelong love for school in every child. While she loves being a teacher, her favorite title of all is "Mom." Her oldest son is a collegiate wrestler in his senior year, and her youngest is serving our country as a U.S. Marine. Outside of school, Maria enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring the outdoors, attending concerts, cheering on Colorado sports teams, and working on her goal to travel more. She is honored to work closely with the students, families, and the greater Big Sky community.
