Maisie Sky has taught K-5th music since 2019, and is excited to continue at Big Sky PK-8. Before teaching at Big Sky, she taught music at Highland Elementary School in Ault, CO and Sanborn Elementary School in Longmont, CO. While at Sanborn, she also served as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator and Director of the Choir and Drama Club programs. Although singing and vocals are her focus, she also has a background in the instrumental field as a trumpet player.
Mrs. Sky believes all students should have a variety of modalities to experience and create music. Whether it is through singing, playing instruments, composing, improvising, arranging, or learning the history, all students can develop an enjoyment and appreciation of this art form. She is excited to inspire new students through engaging lessons and deep relationships to help develop creativity, confidence, and collaborative skills, and is honored to help develop the performing arts program at Big Sky PK-8.
When she is not teaching, Maisie enjoys gardening, baking, cross-stitching, travelling with her husband, and singing in the Laudamus Chamber Chorale out of Fort Collins, CO.
