Preschool at Big Sky PK-8
Big Sky PK–8 will open for the 2026–27 school year and will offer preschool as part of its academic programming. The school will provide morning and afternoon half-day preschool sessions, as well as a full-day preschool option as one of its two preschool classes.
Preschool classes will be offered Monday through Friday. Exact session times will be announced at a later date. Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before Oct. 1 of the school year in which they are enrolling.
The preschool program supports early learning through developmentally appropriate instruction that includes hands-on learning, exploration and play. Consistent routines and opportunities for social development help build foundational skills that support kindergarten readiness, while offering families flexible scheduling options within a school community.
Enrollment Options
Tuition-Based Preschool
Tuition-based preschool is available to eligible students and includes half-day morning or afternoon classes, as well as a full-day preschool option. Families must complete the tuition-based preschool application. Annual rates are available on the district preschool website.
Special Education Preschool
St. Vrain Valley Schools provides special education services for children from birth to age 21. Eligible children receive free preschool services beginning at age 3, as required by federal and state law. The preschool program works collaboratively with the district’s Child Find team to assess eligibility and determine appropriate placement and services in partnership with families, based on each child’s individual needs.
Universal Preschool (UPK) Information
Colorado’s UPK program provides free preschool for children who will be four years old on or before October 1 of the school year they are enrolling. Through UPK, families can receive up to 15 hours per week of state-funded preschool. The UPK application is completed separately through the state’s system.
